Back in 2014 Senior Pipe Major, Mr Ross Baxter, approached Travelworld in regards to a trip with the Pipes and Drums of Canada to tour Scotland and play in their piping band. After over a year of planning the time had arrived. On August 16th 2015 Mary Ann accompanied 140 Pipers and Drummers over to Edinburgh, Scotland. People flew in from Iqaluit, Vancouver, Winnipeg, Toronto and even Beverly Hills. The group visited many towns to perform to the locals including Dunfermline, Dumfries and the Pitlochry Parade. One of the most special stops on the tour was to Balmoral Castle to perform for Queen Elizabeth, Prince Philip and Princess Sophie. Mary Ann was lucky enough to meet the Queen and Prince and shake their hands. It was great to see how the locals reacted to the Canadian Pipers and it was a very proud moment to watch them perform in front of so many people. We would like to thank Ross for giving Travelworld the opportunity to plan this group and we look forward to future trips with the Pipes and Drums of Canada.
